David Hurst the Chairman of the Greater
Manchester Young Republicans was born in New Hampshire in 1979. He was
educated in Manchester public schools and while serving as captain of
various sports teams, he learned the value of hard work and
perseverance. Upon graduating from West High School in 1998 he went on to
study Business at UNH where he served as Senator of the student body
and became actively involved in politics.
Hurst worked in the financial services
industry for four years and now provides Communication and Investor Relation
services to a High Tech firm in Manchester. He has served as Chairman of
the Communications Committee for The Manchester Republican Committee for
over a year, which has given him ample experience in dealing with media and
public relations. Hurst has applied these skills to his service as Chairman
of the Greater Manchester Young Republicans for the past year and was
recently elected National Committeeman of the New Hampshire young
Republicans.
Among Hurst’s most enjoyable political
moments came while volunteering for the Bush Presidential campaign in 1999
and seeing his election in 2000. In 2004 the Greater Manchester Young
Republicans put forward a strong effort which helped Bush, Benson, Bradley,
Gregg, Wieczorek, as well as other local candidates win in Manchester.
Hurst sites many reasons for deciding to lead the Greater Manchester Young
Republicans. “I have a great understanding and love for people, a strong
desire to serve, and a great love for the party of Ronald Reagan. I know
that we all have valuable God given abilities that can be channeled
collectively into this organization to produce extraordinary results.
Together we can build the base of the Republican Party. Today I ask that
you take the first step by joining us in our ongoing efforts to achieve the
goals of the Republican Party.”
